With today’s technology, patients now have more options when it comes to wearing braces. While traditional metal braces are still widely used, clear braces, lingual braces and self-ligating braces are becoming increasingly popular along with clear appliances.

Traditional Braces

The most common type, metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel. The brackets, which are bonded to the front of each tooth, are connected by the archwire, which helps guide the teeth into the correct positions. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.

ceramic

Ceramic braces move teeth just as efficiently as metal braces, except the brackets are clear, so they are less noticeable. They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawbacks to ceramic braces are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Self Ligating

Self-ligating braces utilize a specialized clip instead of elastics to help the archwire guide teeth into place. This innovative design reduces the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth and requires fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace. This results in a more comfortable experience and potentially shorter treatment times.

Retention

The retention phase is the final and most critical step of your orthodontic journey. Once your braces are removed, Dr. Wang will provide a custom-fitted retainer to ensure your teeth stay in their new, beautiful positions while the bone and gums stabilize.

Invisalign®

The Invisalign system is a series of clear overlay templates, or aligners, that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move teeth. This system is available to patients with certain orthodontic bite problems.

Our office uses the state-of-the-art iTero® digital impression system to eliminate the need for messy, uncomfortable putty. This advanced scanner captures precise 3D images of your teeth, providing a faster and more accurate foundation for your personalized treatment plan.

3D Imaging

We utilize the Planmeca ProMax 3D imaging unit to capture high-resolution views of your facial structure and tissues. This multi-purpose unit provides unparalleled accuracy in diagnosis while ensuring significantly lower radiation exposure for our patients.
